What is the Tennessee RiverLine?
The Tennessee RiverLine is a continuous, multi-modal system of trail experiences along the Tennessee River that stretches 652 miles from Knoxville, TN, to Paducah, KY, that:
- Celebrates the scenic beauty, rich diversity and storied history of the Tennessee River and the Tennessee River Valley
- Connects people and communities to each other, their river heritage, and the Tennessee River landscape, and
- Catalyzes new investments in economic opportunity, social health and ecological stewardship
Called North America's next great regional trail system, the Tennessee RiverLine originated in 2016 in the School of Landscape Architecture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Architecture and Design and UT Herbert College of Agriculture. Today, it is conducted by the Tennessee RiverLine Partnership with ongoing support of the University of Tennessee.
