SOMEHOW there’s very few days left ‘till Christmas shopping has to be all wrapped up - how did we let this happen again?? Don’t worry Knoxville, we’ve totally got you covered on last minute Christmas gifts and outfit suggestions for making it through the rest of the cold times, all conveniently packaged into this very blog post. We teamed up with our friends April and Jenny  at French Fried Vintage to style some of our Winter 2019 shirts with their perfectly curated vintage clothes and accessories, and it turns out that our suspicions were correct: we go together like elves and shelves. Scroll on to find something fun and -dare we say it- maybe even a little bit fancy for whoever’s left on your list - and you!

Nothing says Christmas quite like a green and red plaid - and nothing says Tennessee Christmas like a little bit of DOLLY! Combine the power of Dolly with vintage plaid and you’ve got a Christmas outfit for the books. Our long sleeve Hard Candy Christmas tee styled with a vintage blazer, sweater skirt, and practical-but-stylin’ white boots can be your holiday uniform while you’re running from work to shopping to the third potluck of the week. Your sister is also gonna want this whole look, while you’re at it.

Here it is, the thing we've all been searching for: a comfy outfit that can go from playing in the snow to family dinner and right into opening presents on Christmas morning (aka putting together those insanely complicated kid’s toys). We styled our new Christmas Truck Raglan with these amazing red and green patchwork pants & a cozy plaid scarf! Fun fact: You can easily mix different patterns into one outfit like a pro - as long as they live in the same color family you won’t look like you got dressed in the dark.

‘Tis the season for making the same casserole recipe over and over again for all of the 87 Christmas parties you end up having on your calendar - but at least since you already know what food you’re bringing, now you can focus on the really important part: WHAT will you wear?! Might we suggest something with some shimmer, a little humor, and a great movie reference? We layered our Major Award long sleeve tee (featuring metallic gold ink) over a silky gold button down top and tucked it into a black leather skirt. Accessorize with these fab gold pumps, an intricately detailed waist belt, and no-nonsense black leather bag for a look so cool you’ll get away with wearing a t-shirt to the Christmas party. Look at you go.

You know that one uncle that *HAS* to talk about getting his pickup truck stuck in the snow during the blizzard of ‘93 at the first sight of a single flurry? We get it, it was a big deal. Give him another chance to tell that story and gift him with an NTF classic, the Blizzard of ‘93 long sleeve tee. Make this tee blizzard-ready with a vintage flannel (FFV has an impressive selection of them) puffy vest, classic blue jeans, and top it all off with something like this hilarious “Oldie but Goodie” trucker cap, we promise he’ll think it’s funny.

Does anyone else pack a nap outfit to change into after a big holiday dinner? Hear us out: it’s a great idea. Look cute for family photos so your mom doesn’t fuss, then sink all the way into Grandma’s couch for the game in something way more comfy. Sports, alcohol, and stretchy pants are literally always in season. Style our Sports and Alcohol tee (in black or orange) with these crazy awesome FFV windbreaker elastic pants and a snapback hat that’ll make it feel like ‘98.

We can probably all agree that New Year's Eve is by far the fanciest holiday (or at least the sparkliest, but same thing) so you may not have expected to find NYE party outfit inspo in a blog for a business called Nothing Too Fancy. But with the genius styling of Jenny from French Fried Vintage, we give you the fanciest Nothing Too Fancy outfit ever: this look brings together a sequin dress, our NTF text tee, a shimmery clutch, metallic pumps, and a chill-breaking blazer in a way previously thought to be impossible. Equal parts funny, classy, and sparkly - all the ingredients for a fabulous start to 2020. Hellooooo, new decade!!

To round out the year, the decade, and this outfit inspiration post, we bring you a power move: coordinating party looks. Establish yourselves as the King and Queen of Country, Rock & Roll, the party, & the decade with our new playing card inspired tees. Pair them with these vintage high waisted leather pants or classic black wranglers and red cowboy boots, and some bright red paisley print accessories certainly couldn’t hurt. Ring in the New Year with these two Tennessee icons and perhaps become a couple of Tennessee icons yourselves!

Feeling inspired to rock some NTF and vintage this holiday season? We hope so! Shopping small, local, and vintage are great ways to support your community, the local economy, and the planet year ‘round!
