Nothing Too Fancy

Nabers Helping Neighbors

Ok, so its a bad pun.

Last fall a local family hosted a group of tennis players from the UK. During their visit, the group was treated to a UT football game by their host family. Everyone knows you can't step foot inside Neyland without some kind of orange on, so Trish Nabers brought the guys by Nothing Too Fancy and let each one pick a shirt. They were photographed sporting their Knoxville gear while at the game and she was nice enough to share it with us.

Hopefully the guys are proudly wearing their souvenirs back at home in England. Thanks to Trish for supporting local!

The Dirty Guv'nahs

James Trimble of Knoxville rock band, The Dirty Guv'nahs, took some time out this past weekend to stage dive a crowd in Athens, GA. We love the KNX shirt he's wearing! Nothing like showing a little Knoxville love while on the road. Looks like the show was a blast!

Photo credit goes to Chandler Machemehl.

Former Knoxvillian Makes a Name for Himself In NYC

Former Knoxvillian & best bud of Nothing Too Fancy, John O'Grodnick, has recently been making waves in the NYC art scene. In addition to showing some of his paintings in Lincoln Center in March, he has also been spending some time at one of our favorite spots, 5Pointz. This massive graffiti installation is located in Long Island City Queens, NY and boasts the world's largest sanctioned street art exhibit. We love the way his Nothing Too Fancy T-Shirt looks next to all that great artwork.

You can check out his site and get some more info by clicking here.

Traveling Light Photo Shoot for Architectural Antics

We were excited to welcome Traveling Light Photography into our shop the other day as he was visiting a few places around town to photograph the work of Architectural Antics. Architectural Antics is a locally owned salvage & re-purposing company comprised of father-son duo, Dayton & Abram Hanford. Without these two guys, it would have been very, very difficult for us to have opened on time back in September.

Along with helping us build our counter, poster display and signs, they also supply our store with quite a few of the character building items like old signs, lighting fixtures and more.

Local Musician Jonathan Sexton Rockin' an NTF Tee

This video was shot recently at the Pilot Light. We like it for a few reasons...not only is he super talented, but he also has great taste! Take a listen and while you're at it, check out his "I Survived the Blizzard of '93" shirt!

"Medicine Heals the Body, Music Heals the Soul"

Metro Pulse recently did a great story on local band The Black Lillies. The band has really taken off recently and we couldn't be happier for this group of talented musicians from our hometown. We see Cruz quite a bit and are happy that he likes our store...almost as much as we like his music!

We were even happier when we saw him wearing one of our shirts by designer Justin Helton of Status Serigraph on the cover of Metro Pulse last week! Check out the full article here. This shirt fittingly reads, "Medicine Heals the Body, Music Heals the Soul".

Tote Bag Love

We love anytime Ashlyn features some of our items on her blog. She has great taste! And we're not just saying that because she likes our stuff.

Check out her latest post here where she features one of our tote bags. Many of you have probably have gotten one of these little gems as we give away a free one with each purchase over $50. Just one way we can show you how much we appreciate your business!

Love her shoes, too.

Best of Knoxville 2013 Voting

The local independent weekly, Metro Pulse, conducts a pretty intense poll each year to determine which of Knoxville's businesses and people and places are favorites among Knoxvillians. This year we are officially in the running and would love it if you would take a few minutes to vote for us in as many categories as you feel necessary.
